On October 19, 2011 Dr. Dawn Pleas-Bailey spoke at chapel. Her message was entitled "I Hate You!" She reminded the community to do good to their enemies. A hard, but appropriate message to hear. On October 5, 2011 Rev. Kendal Utt spoke at chapel. As an SC alumnus, Rev. Utt was back for homecoming and he encouraged the community with Hebrews 11:32-12:2. His message was titled "They're All in the Stands," and he reminded the chapel community to remember that those who have gone before are continually rooting the SC family on in work, fun and faith. On April 27, 2011, Senior Chapel took place at Southwestern. It was the last chapel of the semester and we were honored to hear from three of our seniors: Kyle Luttgeharm, Elizabeth Hill and Taggart Wall. On February 16, 2011, we were privileged to hear from some of our very own students at Southwestern during student chapel. The theme was "Light up the World," and the student speakers were Rutendo Jokomo, Meeka Gentry and Zach Castor. A special offering was also taken for Haitian hunger relief. On January 26, Rev. Rodney Worsham spoke at chapel. He preached from Daniel 3 about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace. He reminded us that our "Daniels" are not always going to be around to help us out in desperate times of need. Sometimes, it is our turn to be the new "Daniel" to our peers.
